What is Babylon Dining? 

Babylon Dining is a bespoke private chef service offering fine dining experiences in the comfort of your own home or venue. We create custom menus, cook on-site, and provide elegant, restaurant-quality service for any occasion. 

Where do you operate? 

We're based in the Cotswolds but happily travel across the UK. Whether you're hosting a dinner party in London, a retreat in the countryside, or a celebration closer to home, we'll come to you. 

What kind of events do you cater for? 

We cater to a wide range of events-from intimate dinners and family gatherings to weddings, luxury retreats, and corporate occasions. No event is too small or too grand. 

How does the booking process work? 

It starts with a conversation. Once you enquire, we'll get in touch to understand your vision, guest count, dietary requirements, and any preferences. 
From there, we'll create a custom menu and confirm all details before the event. 

Can you accommodate dietary requirements? 

Absolutely. We regularly work with clients who require vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, or allergen-friendly options. Just let us know in advance, and we'll build the menu around your needs. 

Do you provide staff or just the chef? 

We can provide a full team-including waitstaff, kitchen assistants, and pastry chefs-depending on the size and style of your event. For smaller, more intimate dinners, the chef may handle both cooking and presentation. 

Do you bring the ingredients and equipment? 

Yes, we source the highest quality seasonal ingredients and bring any necessary specialist equipment. All we need is access to a working kitchen. We'll leave your space just as we found it— immaculate and stress-free.

How far in advance should I book? 

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends and peak seasons. 
However, don't hesitate to reach out for last-minute availability-we'll always do our best to accommodate you. 

What are your prices? 

Our pricing is bespoke, based on your menu, guest count, location, and level of service required. Once we understand your needs, we'll provide a clear, tailored quote with no hidden costs.

Do you provide plates and cutlery? 

Yes, we supply high-quality plates and cutlery as part of our private chef service. This ensures your dishes are presented beautifully and enjoyed with the right tools. 
Please note, we do not provide full tableware such as glassware, linens, or decorative items-but we're happy to coordinate with your event planner or venue if needed. 

Do you bring your own cooking equipment? 

Yes, I bring my own professional equipment to ensure consistency and quality in every dish. 
All we require is access to a fully functional kitchen-including an oven, hob, sink, and basic appliances. If you're unsure about your setup, we're happy to discuss the space with you beforehand to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day. 

My kitchen is quite small-can I still book? 

Absolutely. We're experienced in working in all types of kitchen spaces, from compact home kitchens to larger professional setups. 
As long as your kitchen is fully functional-with access to an oven, hob, and running water—we can make it work. If you're unsure, just send us a few photos or give us a quick call, and we'll guide you through it. 

When will the chef arrive? 

Your chef will typically arrive 2 to 3 hours before service begins, depending on the menu and the size of your event. This ensures enough time for preparation, plating setup, and a seamless dining experience. 
We'll confirm the exact arrival time with you during the planning process to make sure everything is perfectly timed and stress-free.

Who handles the clean-up? 

We take care of the clean-up so you don't have to. 
After your dining experience, we'll tidy the kitchen, wash up any equipment or plates we've used, and leave the space just as we found it-immaculate and stress-free. 
All you need to do is relax and enjoy the evening. 

Who sets the table? 

If you've requested plates and cutlery from us, we'll be happy to set the table as part of your dining experience. We'll ensure everything is arranged beautifully and in keeping with the tone of your event. 
For full table styling-including glassware, linens, florals, and décor-we recommend coordinating with your own stylist or event planner, though we're happy to work alongside them to ensure a seamless setup. 

Can I book a chef for a single event or multiple occasions? 

Absolutely-you can book Babylon Dining for a one-off special occasion or arrange multiple bookings for events, retreats, or ongoing private chef services. 
Whether it's a birthday dinner, a weekend getaway, or a series of corporate events, we'll tailor each experience to your needs with the same attention to detail, quality, and care.

Booking & Cancellation Policy 

To secure your private dining experience with Babylon Dining, a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. This ensures your event date is reserved and allows us to begin designing your bespoke menu and organising logistics. 

  • Deposit: 25% of the total fee, due upon booking confirmation.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your event date.

We understand that plans can change, and we aim to be as accommodating as possible: 

  • Full refund of your deposit is available for cancellations made 14 days or more in advance.

  • For cancellations made between 7 and 13 days before the event, the deposit is non-refundable.

  • For cancellations made within 7 days, 50% of the total fee may be retained to cover preparation, staffing, and sourcing costs. 

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the event are non-refundable, as all ingredients, staffing, and preparations will have been finalised. 
    If rescheduling is needed, we will always do our best to offer an alternative date, subject to availability.
